Premier Wen Jiabao Meets with Foreign Minister Celso Amorim of Brazil

On the afternoon of March 22, 2004, Premier Wen Jiabao of the State Council met with the Brazilian delegation headed by Foreign Minister Celso Amorim at the Great Hall of the People. The two sides exchanged views on bilateral relations between the two countries and issues of common concern.

Wen Jiabao gave a high appraisal of development of China-Brazil relations, saying that China stands ready to bring the strategic partnership between the two countries to a higher and more profound level working together with Brazil.

Celso Amorim said developing relations with China is a priority of Brazil's foreign policies and Brazil hopes to further enhance economic and trade cooperation with China so as to realize common development of the two countries.

Present at the meeting were also Vice Foreign Minister of China Zhou Wenzhong, Ambassador of Brazil to China Affonso Celso de Ouro-Preto and other officials.
