China, Brazil, India, Mexico, and South Africa Hold Consultations on Issues Related to the G8 Dialogue

On April 21, 2008, the coordinators of China, Brazil, India, Mexico, and South Africa responsible for the G8 matters held consultations on Issues Related to the G8 Dialogue in Beijing, exchanging views on issues related to the G8 Dialogue and coordinating their positions. The consultation meeting was attended by Chinese assistant foreign minister, Indian foreign secretary, Brazilian vice foreign minister, advisor to the President of South Africa, and Mexican vice foreign minister. The five countries agreed to strengthen coordination and cooperation to make preparations for the G8 Dialogue. After the consultations, the coordinators exchanged views with Japanese Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Masaharu Kohno, the coordinator of Japan, on the arrangements for the G8 Dialogue this year.
