The two heads of state will have a comprehensive review over the successful experiences of the development of the Sino-Russian relations in the past decade, and make a strategic plan for the growth of the bilateral relations in the future. The two sides will also focus on the key areas and fields for long-term mutually-beneficial cooperation and have an in-depth and wide-ranging exchange of views on major international issues of common interest. It is my belief that President Putin's visit will greatly push forward the Sino-Russian relations.

A: China and Russia are both countries of major bearing upon the world. The two leaders will have a wide-ranging exchange of views on international issues during their meetings. As for the specifics, I may update you after the meetings and talks are concluded.

Q: What are the main topics of President Putin's visit? Will the two sides reach consensus on the joint border patrol?

A: As I indicated, during President Putin's visit to China, the two sides will exchange views on the bilateral relations and major international issues of common interest. As for the specifics of the Sino-Russian relations, we will brief you after the meetings and talks. I am not aware of the specific topics so far.

Q: The UN weapons inspectors have completed their first day's task. What is the comment of the Chinese side? Has Iraq asked China to send experts to join the group?

A: We have also seen the relevant report. The UN weapons inspectors have concluded their first day of inspection smoothly, marking a good beginning. It is our hope that the UN weapons inspectors will continue their work smoothly and effectively, and that the relevant parties will continue to strictly abide by the relevant UNSC resolutions.

Regarding your second question, upon the request of the United Nations, China has expressed its willingness to send experts to join the UN weapons inspection in Iraq. The two sides are having negotiations for the implementation of the specific arrangement.
