During the meeting, Wen spoke highly of China-Singapore relations, saying that the bilateral cooperation is of long-term, full of creativity and with effectiveness. The two countries respect each other and treat each other as equals, and hope to be friends and cooperate on the basis of mutual benefit forever, Wen said. Both sides have continuously enriched their cooperation by keeping pace with the times and such cooperation has yielded both economic and social benefit and benefited the two peoples, he added.
Wen said China is implementing the scientific concept of development and is committed to building an energy-saving, environment-friendly society and Singapore proposes building a new Singapore based on knowledge economy. Thus there are more opportunities and broader space for the cooperation between the two countries. Wen urged both sides to continue strengthening trade and investment cooperation and push the development of Suzhou Industrial Park to a new level. The premier also called for mapping out a blueprint from a long-term perspective and making the project of the eco-city in Tianjin up to advanced international level.
Goh said Singapore's relations with China are good and the new areas as well as new ways of cooperation will push forward the bilateral ties to a new height. Goh also expressed hope to further develop the cooperation in the project of the Suzhou Industrial Park and do well in building the Eco-City in Tianjin. He also suggested both sides expand cooperation in other regions of China.
