Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Dai Bingguo met with Andreas Khol, Speaker of the Austrian National Parliament on Oct. 27, 2005. Both sides spoke positively of China-Austria and China-EU relationship. Khol said that the Austrian side attaches great importance to developing the relation with China and is willing to make constant efforts to promote the development of China-EU relations. Both sides also exchanged views on major current international issues.

At the invitation of Wu Bangguo, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), the delegation of Austrian National Parliament headed by Speaker Kohl arrived in Beijing today, kicking off the 4-day official friendly visit to China.
