On October 15, Ambassador Wei Huaxiang attended and delivered remarks at the unveiling ceremony for the RMB clearing bank in Sri Lanka. Also in attendance were Mr. Zhang Hui, President of the Bank of China; Dr. Anil Jayantha Fernando, Minister of Labour and Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning of Sri Lanka, and Mr. K G P Sirikumara, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.

Ambassador Wei pointed out, the establishment of the RMB Clearing Bank is a pragmatic choice to serve bilateral economic and trade exchanges, a timely move to support Sri Lanka's economic recovery and also a vivid practice in building the China-Sri Lanka community with a shared future.
