On 15th September 2026, H.E. Ambassador Wei Huaxiang paid a courtesy call on Hon. Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Rtd), Deputy Minister of Defence of Sri Lanka. The cordial conversations covered issues of military education and training programme, equipment cooperation, disaster management capacity building, etc. Both sides expressed good wills on further strengthening the longstanding bilateral relationship and defence cooperation. Senior Colonel Fu Xiao, Chinese Defence Attaché attended the event.
