Ambassador Wei Huaxiang Presents Credentials to Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake

On August 25, Ambassador H.E. Wei Huaxiang presented his credentials to Sri Lankan President H.E. Anura Kumara Dissanayake. The two sides held a cordial and friendly exchange of views on the development of China-Sri Lanka bilateral relations.

President Dissanayake welcomed Ambassador Wei on assuming his new post in Sri Lanka, emphasizing the Sri Lankan side valued its relations with China. He said that Sri Lanka stands ready to further deepen exchanges and cooperation with China across various fields. He expressed expectation that Ambassador Wei would play an important role in advancing bilateral relations and jointly opening a new chapter in China-Sri Lanka relations for the benefits of the two countries and two peoples.

Ambassador Wei stated that China stands ready to work with Sri Lanka to deliver on the important consensus reached by the two presidents, increase synergy between our development strategies, deepen practical cooperation, advance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, and enhance people-to-people exchanges, elevate the China-Sri Lanka strategic cooperative partnership based on sincere mutual assistance and ever-lasting friendship to a new level, and jointly build a China-Sri Lanka community with a shared future.

Ambassador Wei arrived in Sri Lanka to assume his post on August 11.
