On July 29, Hon. Anil Jayantha Fernando, Minister of Labour and Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning of Sri Lanka, called on Ambassador Qi Zhenhong at the Embassy to bid him farewell.

Hon. Fernando highly commended Ambassador Qi for his contribution to the development of China-Sri Lanka relations, spoke highly of China's experience in party and state governance, and expressed his appreciation for China's long-standing assistance and support for Sri Lanka's economic and social development. He also expressed his expectation of further deepening exchanges and cooperation with China across various fields in the future. The two sides also held in-depth discussions on major bilateral cooperation projects, poverty alleviation and other issues of common interest.
