On 22 July, Ambassador Qi Zhenhong paid a farewell call on H.E. Ranil Wickremesinghe, former President of Sri Lanka. Wickremesinghe expressed appreciation for Ambassador Qi’s contributions to advancing bilateral relations and deepening exchanges and cooperation across various fields. He reaffirmed the long-standing friendship between the two countries and highly commended the Communist Party of China for uniting and leading the Chinese people of all ethnic groups in overcoming difficulties and achieving remarkable and world-renowned development accomplishments. The two sides also held extensive and in-depth exchanges of views on issues of common interest, including regional connectivity and the conflict in the Middle East.
