On June 20, Ambassador Qi Zhenhong met with Tilvin Silva, General Secretary of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna(JVP), and presented him with the English version of the fifth volume of “Xi Jinping: The Governance of China.” Minister Counsellor Zhu Yanwei attended the meeting.

Ambassador Qi stated that this year marks the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China(CPC). On this special occasion, I would like to specially present you with the fifth volume of “Xi Jinping: The Governance of China.” This book contains General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches and writings from recent years, covering various aspects of state governance. The CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core has coordinated the domestic and international situations, promoted high-quality development, comprehensively deepened reforms, and made solid progress in building China into a modern socialist country in all respects. From a theoretical and practical perspective, this book profoundly addresses a series of major issues concerning the development of the CPC and China, while further enriching and advancing the Party’s achievements in theoretical innovation. I hope that this book will serve as a useful reference for the JVP in governing the country.

Silva stated that the JVP admires the valuable experience and tremendous achievements of the CPC in state governance. It is ready to engage in in-depth exchanges with the CPC to strengthen mutual learning and understanding. I have already studied the first to fourth volumes of “Xi Jinping: The Governance of China”. I will continue to carefully study the fifth volume so as to draw inspiration and wisdom from General Secretary Xi Jinping’s strategies for state governance.
