Ambassador Qi Zhenhong Attends the “Culture and Care for Young Hearts, Together in Friendship” School Donation Program

On February 11, Ambassador Qi Zhenhong went to Sri Somananda School in Colombo to attend “Culture and Care for Young Hearts, Together in Friendship” school supplies donation event held by the Embassy. Stationery was donated to students, and food packages were provided to underprivileged families. Principal Mr.Chaminda Liyanage along with over 300 teachers, students and parents participated in the event.

Ambassador Qi stated that China and Sri Lanka are good friends and reliable partners who support each other. The Chinese government has always paid attention to Sri Lanka’s livelihood development and the needs of children’s education. Education lights the way to the future, and children are the hope. Through providing learning materials for students and food packages for families in need, China hopes to help students study with peace of mind, grow up healthy, and become contributors to the enduring friendship between the two countries in the future.

Principal Mr. Liyanage warmly welcomed Ambassador Qi. He noted that under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, China has overcome many challenges and developed into the most influential country in the world. China always extends a helping hand when Sri Lanka encounters difficulties, and today's donation is a vivid manifestation of the profound friendship between the people of our two countries. He expressed sincere appreciation for China’s long-term support for Sri Lanka’s educationand wished for the China–Sri Lanka friendship to be carried forward from generation to generationand remain everlasting.
