On November 27th, Ambassador Qi Zhenhong and his delegation traveled to Rajarata University in the North Central Province to award the "Chinese Ambassador Scholarship" to students from this university for the first time. More than 100 people attended the ceremony, including Dr. Pushpakumara,Vice Chancellor of Rajarata University, Prof. Ekanayake, Dean of Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ms. Ji Lili, Counselor of the Chinese Embassy, award recipientsand faculty representatives.

AmbassadorQi Zhenhong stated that the friendship between China and Sri Lanka spans millennia, and there are broad prospects for cooperation between the two countries in various fields. He emphasized that education has always been a bridge connecting the hearts of the two peoples, and for half a century, the Chinese government has remained firm in its support of Sri Lanka's educational endeavors. He hoped that the students, encouraged by the "Ambassador Scholarship," would not only continuouslyachieve their personal dreams but also become the pillars of national revitalization and the inheritors of the new generation of China-Sri Lanka friendship.
Prof.Pushpakumara expressed that the "Chinese Ambassador Scholarship" award ceremony is another strong testament to the profound traditional friendship between Sri Lanka and China, and the entire faculty and all students are deeply grateful for it. He encouraged the students to work hard and live up to expectations.
Student representative Hashini expressed her immense gratitude and pride in receiving the scholarship, stating that she would study even harder and contribute to nation-building and China-Sri Lanka friendship in the future.

Following the award ceremony, Ambassador Qi Zhenhong and others also visited the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities and held a cordial discussion with students majoring in Chinese.
