The Chinese embassy in Sri Lanka once again recommend travelers to avoid all nonessential travel due to soaring COVID-19 cases all over the world. If you really need to go to China, in order to reduce cross-border transmission of Covid-19, since February 28, the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka will adjust the requirements for issuing green health codes with the "HS" mark or health declaration codes with the "HDC" mark as follows:

.Chinese and foreign passengers who have urgent need of travel should choose a direct flight to China. The Embassy in Sri Lanka will not issue green health codes / health declaration codes to passengers who will travel from Sri Lanka to China via the third countries or regions. When applying for the health codes / health declaration codes, they should upload the both negative certificates of nucleic acid and IgM antibody tests within 48 hours before boarding issued by the designated hospitals, the air ticket itineraries, and the residence certificates in Sri Lanka (ID card for Sri Lankan citizen, residence visa or Chinese exit seal and Sri Lankan entry seal on the passport for Chinese citizen).

.Chinese Passengers working in enterprises and projects in Sri Lanka should conduct at least 14 days closed-loop quarantine before boarding the flight. When applying for the health codes/health declaration codes, relevant certificates issued by the enterprises should be uploaded. For enterprises and projects which do not implement the above quarantine regulation or have loopholes in infection control and prevention, the Embassy will not issue green health codes/ health declaration codes.

.Passengers not working in enterprises and projects in Sri Lanka should stay at home for quarantine after testing and before boarding rather than going outside for shopping, dining, meeting friends, going to the bank or for other activities, arrange a reliable closed-loop vehicle to the airport, strengthen protection during the whole process of waiting and boarding in airport, and wear masks and other protective equipment to minimize the risk of infection.

.If one of the three tests of nucleic acid, IgM and IgG antibody has been tested positive, the person who intends to go to China should send the diagnosis certificate with CT or X-ray result of the lung issued by the local hospital and the negative certificate of nucleic acid test for two times (at least 24 hours interval between two sampling time) to consulate_ lka@mfa.gov.cn. After the approval by the Embassy, the person will be quarantined for 14 days.If the health status is normal, please apply for the health codes / health declaration codes according to Article 1.

.For the passengers from the countries which have direct flight to China, please do not transit in Sri Lanka. The Embassy in Sri Lanka will not issue green health codes / health declaration codes to such passengers. If you insist on coming to China via Sri Lanka, all the loss shall be borne by the relevant passengers.

.For the passengers from the countries which have no direct flight to China, as currently rapid tests are not available in Sri Lankan airports and there is a high risk of infection in Sri Lanka, it is recommended that such passengers avoid transiting in Sri Lanka to reduce unnecessary risks.
