Xi Jinping Concludes His State Visit to Sri Lanka and President Mahinda Rajapaksa Pay A Special Trip to the Airport to Bid Farewells

On September 17 local time, President Xi Jinping concluded his state visit to Sri Lanka and left for Ahmedabad for his state visit to India. President Mahinda Rajapaksa of Sri Lanka paid a special trip to the airport to bid farewells.

At 11:20 am local time, Xi Jinping and his wife Mme. Peng Liyuan arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport where President Mahinda Rajapaksa held a grand and warm seeing-off ceremony. The Sri Lankan people performed national dances and merrily beat drums and blew trumpets, congratulating Xi Jinping's successful visit to Sri Lanka and expressing friendship and blessings of the Sri Lankan people to the Chinese people.

The two heads of state and their wives warmly bade farewells under the ramp. Xi Jinping stressed that I am satisfied with the achievements of the visit and would like to join efforts with you to promote the implementation of the various consensuses reached by us so as to push bilateral relations for new and greater development.

Mahinda Rajapaksa said that President Xi Jinping's state visit to Sri Lanka is a complete success and yields important results in bilateral cooperation. Sri Lanka is grateful to China for its support and assistance and wishes Sri Lanka-China friendship last from generation to generation.
