State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan Meets with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen

On the noon of April 21, 2004, State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan met with Prime Minister Hun Sen of the Kingdom of Cambodia at Diaoyutai State Guest Hotel.

Tang said that the traditional relations of friendly cooperation between China and Cambodia have been established on the basis of mutual trust and have stood the tests of history. With frequent visits between leaders of the two countries, close exchanges between the two peoples and sound development of the cooperation in various fields, China and Cambodia are good neighbors and good friends in a real sense.

Tang also expressed his appreciation for the Cambodian government's resolute adherence to the one-China policy and its openly-declared support for China's lofty cause of reunification.

Agreeing to Tang's remarks on the relations between the two countries, Hun Sen noted that the Cambodian people hold deep respect for the Chinese people and mutual trust and respect are the solid foundation for the sustained development of the Cambodia-China relations. This visit, which has borne fruitful results, will definitely promote the in-depth and comprehensive development of the relations between the two countries.

The two sides also exchanged views on further enhancing the cooperation in areas including economy, trade, investment and tourism.
