On the evening of February 12, the "Happy Spring Festival-Lantern Festival Concert" was successfully held at Nelum Pokuna Theatre in Colombo. Zhu Yanwei, Charge d'affaires ad interim of Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka, attended and delivered a speech. Nearly a thousand participants,including officials from diplomatic missions, overseas Chinese in Sri Lanka, and friends from all walks of life in Sri Lanka attended.

On behalf of Ambassador Qi Zhenhong and the embassy, Zhu extended New Year greetings to overseas Chinese in Sri Lanka, saying that the Spring Festival is the most important traditional festival of the Chinese nation, which entrusts the people's feelings of humanity and family and country. Like the Sri Lankan New Year, it is an important festival for family reunions and farewell to the old and welcoming the new. China-Sri Lanka friendship has a long history and is at a historical juncture of carrying forward the past and opening up the future. President Dissanayak recently visited China and met with President Xi Jinping. The two heads of state agreed to deepen the strategic partnership and jointly build a China-Sri Lanka community with a shared future. Cultural exchanges connect people's hearts across regions and are an important part of China-Sri Lanka relations. China is willing to strengthen cultural cooperation between the two countries, further enhance the understanding and friendship between the two peoples, and effectively enhance the level of exchanges and cooperation between China and Sri Lanka in various fields.

The atmosphere at the concert was lively. Artists from the Jiangsu Wuxi Chinese Orchestra performed famous songs including "Dance of the Golden Snake", "Evening Song on the Fishing Boat ", "Into picturesque Jiangnan" and "Full Moon and Blooming Flowers", which received rounds of applause from the audience.
