Chinese Navy Hospital Ship Peace Ark Visits Sri Lanka and Provides Medical Services

On 21 December, the Chinese naval hospital ship Peace Ark, which is on the Mission Harmony-2024, arrived at the port of Colombo, Sri Lanka, to begin a 7-day friendly visit and provide medical service. This is the second visit to Sri Lanka by the Chinese naval hospital ship Peace Ark after its visit in 2017.

At around 10:00 a.m., the hospital ship slowly docked at the Port of Colombo. Ambassador H.E. Qi Zhenhong and Spouse, together with more than 100 people including staff of Chinese Embassy and representatives of overseas Chinese, as well as military and political officials of Sri Lanka, greeted the ship at the pier. Amid the enthusiastic performance of the Sri Lanka Navy Band, the crowd waved the national flags of the two countries and warmly welcomed the second visit of Peace Ark.

During the visit, the Chinese naval hospital ship Peace Ark will use its main platform to provide medical service and treatment service onboard for Sri Lankan people. In addition, representatives of the mission officers and soldiers will also go to local hospitals to offer medical service and take part in certain programs with the Sri Lanka Navy such as joint training, cultural and fellowship activities, and dragon boat race.
