The Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka had initiated the online visa application and appointment system from 10th May 2021.
The Embassy opens for visa appointments from the second day (the day +1) to the next 7 working days. The applicant should arrange his/her itinerary reasonably and make an appointment to apply for a visa in advance. The Embassy shall accept the visa application only according to the appointment time displayed in the system.
Applicants applying for visa for Chinese mainland are required to log on https://cova.mfa.gov.cn/qzCoCommonController.do?show&pageId=index&locale=en_US and fill in the visa application form online. After completing the form online, the applicant may enter the visa appointment interface by clicking the button of "schedule an appointment", or log on https://avas.mfa.gov.cn/qzyyCoCommonController.do?yyindex&locale=en_US afterwards, enter the contact information and Application ID to make an appointment for submitting the documents on site and meeting with desk officers.
Applicants are required to submit passports and other required documents to the Embassy with the printed complete application form and signed Confirmation of Online Visa Application as per scheduled appointment. Exceptions:
I. The visa application process for Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions of China remain unchanged, and there is no need for online visa application and appointment.
II. The diplomatic, service or official passport holders as well as applicants applying for diplomatic, courtesy or official visas do not need to make an appointment online. However, the applicants are required to fill in and print out the complete online application form pursuant to the above-mentioned requirements.
